We believe in helping others flourish for the glory of God and the good of others.
We believe in homes that hum with life—where beauty, tradition, and faith meet real laughter and real messes. We believe in raising kids who are confident, competent, and kind. We believe in honoring the past, embracing the present, and creating space for others to flourish.
Hospitality. Marriage. Legacy. Family. These are the things that matter most to us—and they’re the heartbeat behind everything we teach and share.
We're a couple of family focused, habitual renovators, creativity seeking, hospitality loving B&B owners.
We love old-world style, Jesus, being mentored by biographies, and working hard to cultivate our 1800's Victorian Manor.
If you stumbled across our Instagram for just a moment, you might think you’ve landed inside a Jane Austen novel.
A grand white manor rises from Virginia’s rolling hills, its 1859 Italianate architecture standing watch over 37 acres of gardens, wildflower fields, and winding trails.
A historic one room schoolhouse peeks out from beneath the trees. A 200-year-old summer kitchen flickers with firelight and smells from a warm hearth spilling from the chimneys and scenting the garden courtyard.
Floppy eared, baby goats bounce through flower dotted meadows, while candlelit tables are set with antique china and children build with artisan skills like you just stepped into scene at Colonial Williamsburg.
It all looks so idyllic—and in many ways, it is.
But grab a cup of tea and settle in… because this is the part of the story you might have never heard....
Before Mayhurst, our lives and our hospitality looked a lot less like Southern Living and a lot more like sacred chaos.
For 15 years of our marriage, it wasn’t catered menus or polished silver—it was a blur of renovation dust, homeschooling four small children, hand-me-down dishes, unpredictable dinner guests, stacks of laundry, and the front door always swinging open. In fact, our life still looks very similar to this, but just a bit different...let me explain.
One day, a curveball of grace came.
Our big, giant prayers were answered.
We moved into Mayhurst on February 18, 2020, with four kids, four goats, and all our belongings in tow—into a house we had only visited once before.
We had never owned a bed and breakfast. We had no certainty that this big crazy dream would work. We only had a giant dream that God had planted in our hearts and a deep conviction that at the end of our lives we would never regret trying, no matter if it failed.
Three weeks later, the world shut down.
While the phone rang with cancellations , money pouring out in refunds, and uncertainty sweeping in like a storm, something else began to grow here—something more lasting than B&B bookings or business ambitions.
We watched God breathe life into the dreams we had spoken aloud years earlier…
Dreams we whispered while walking through a quiet cemetery.
In the early years of our marriage, Jason and I formed an unusual tradition: date walks through a quiet, sprawling cemetery called Cave Hill in Louisville, KY.
Beneath the shade of ancient trees and moss covered gravestones etched with time, we would ask each other, “If God gives us until we’re 90, what would we regret not having done?”
There, surrounded by the echoes of lives now passed, the answer always rose clear: we couldn’t waste the now.
We would regret not opening our home.
Not showing the love of Christ.
Not pouring our lives, our words, and our gifts out for what lasts. CT Studd's words began to echo in our hearts "Only One Life T'will Soon Be Past, Only What's Done For Christ Will Last".
Those quiet walks became sacred ground- we resolved we’d live with hearts and doors wide open, however messy they may be.
Years later, that vow would become a dream and that dream the reality we are now living.
A Virginia manor on a hill…
An online classroom…
An opportunity on Instagram to breathe life and encouragement into lives around the world.....
